Discovered Check

In-Depth Explanation

A discovered check combines two actions in one move: the moving piece creates a threat while uncovering a line attack on the king. Because the opponent must answer check, the moving piece can often capture material or move to an otherwise unsafe square. Double check is its most forcing form.
